Responses to classmates must consist of at least 350 words (not including the greeting and the references), do NOT repeat the same thing your classmate is saying, try to add something of value like a resource, educational information to give to patients, possible bad outcomes associated with the medicines discussed in the case, try to include a sample case you’ve seen at work and discuss how you feel about how that case was handled. Try to use supportive information such as current Tx guidelines, current research related to the treatment, anything that will enhance learning in the online classroom.

I will be discussing the topic “what public health is all about.”

In recent times, public health has shifted its focus not only based on the quality living standards of humans but also encompasses many marketable trends.

Schools of thought and public health practitioners look at the definitions differently.

Public health facets cut across the health line, which is an act and science of disease prevention, and by so doing, there is an organized system that ensures the longevity of life and health promotion. In addition, there is a collective effort that must meet the standards and ethics of quality health needs. (APHA,2019)

Public Health has been an interdisciplinary field that has created a niche for other allied health areas like biostatistics, epidemiology, and the likes.

Public health is an avenue where there are different levels of care that need bringing about the careful implementation of core values and essential services for the populace

Public health works primarily involve the community and health care practitioners. There is sync in information exchange, where initiatives attract awareness, campaigns, workshops, and symposiums. All these put together will improve the standard of living within the community.

The word Public as a concept braces the partnership’s effort, bringing stakeholders that vary.

The public society can be as small as a group as a village or large as a city.

The term health brings physical well-being, psychological well-being, and otherwise.

Public health aims to alleviate, prevent, control, and manage health conditions, a driving force improving the population’s health. There is an organization of services that are of great benefit and prevention of treatment of diseases, and these benefits ensure every legal individual knows their right to health and longevity (Turnock,2012).

PUBLIC HEALTH ISSUE.

Public health, as earlier stated been a diverse field and is also coated with health-related issues that pose a threat to humankind. these problems range from alcohol-related issues, teen pregnancy, racial-ethnic issues, and the very covid pandemic

I will be looking at the COVID-19, which impacted the world globally, affecting and causing millions of deaths and hospitalizations worldwide.

Public health issues addresses when the stakeholders and the community come together to help define, indicate, collate, identify the stakeholders/implement strategies, and evaluate cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-n.

Public health issues are very concerned with protecting the entire population connected to improving the health needs of the people and their communities

CORE FUNCTIONS AND ESSENTIAL SERVICES OF PUBLIC HEALTH

I will briefly highlight the core functions and essential services of public health.

The core functions and essential services play a vital role in the public health scheme, which involves assessment, policy development, and assurance.

All these puts together help facilitate, monitor, educate, empower, and enforce laws and regulations which protects the health and ensure safety

The essential Services involve a template that is a bedrock for public health. First, there is the promotion of services and the community, enabling optimal health for everyone. Health inequalities such as gender bias, discrimination, and other vices must avoid allowing room for fair play and optimal well-being.

Communication effectively educates the people, implements policies, and implements partnership goals. There is also an interplay of quality organizational infrastructure, which helps maintain/support and build skilled public health teams.
