Module Five Discussion Board

In order to complete your Module Four Discussion, read the following essay on the famous “Oregon Trail”:

Then visit this site, and read some of the documents left by individuals who traveled west along the “Oregon Trail” in the 19thcentury:

After completing these three elements, please complete your fourth discussion board for the class answering the following questions. 

What was the “Oregon Trail”?  What particularly struck you about the experiences of the settlers who traveled on it? Refer to at least two of the specific settlers whose letters or diaries you read, and compare and contrast their experiences.  In what ways were they similar, or different from what you experienced when playing the game? Be specific in your analysis.  Finally, attach the screenshot of your results so that we can see how successful (or not successful) you were in the game.  I will give you my results in next week’s announcements.  

When responding to your classmates, discuss the difficulties you have found along the trail and compare and contrast your experience with theirs.
