Personal Analysis
First Personal Analysis
The scope of this research covers disaster and emergency preparation, management, and prevention measures for further occurrences. Analysis of the results exposes certain intricacies that may be useful in tackling future cases. One interesting case evident from the analysis results is the fact that the majority of people from the sample population have not had any sort of disaster and emergency training. Below is the graphical presentation of the number that has had any sort of disaster training.
The importance of disaster or emergency preparedness training can no longer be underestimated going forward. This is because of all those who responded to have had such training equally identified best ways of preparing and managing disasters in case they occur than those who have never had such training.
Second Personal Analysis
Reacting on the analysis results, state agencies, as well as the organizations and ordinary people, should be able to develop an interest in some of the depictions such as the most common disaster types and their frequency of occurrence. Individuals should particularly be concerned with disasters and emergenciesÂ’ frequency of occurrence as well level of destructions because they are the ones that become directly affected in the event of such occurrences. Such information helps them make early arrangements in terms of what to save for emergencies and disasters in case the government does not respond on time to save people. Our analysis computed all the disasters, as mentioned by respondents in their respective communities, and below is the outcome.
Third Personal Analysis
Another important element that the analysis did well in revealing was how people understood the whole issue of disaster or emergency. In their definitions, it is clear that the majority associated disasters with that which causes destruction and significant disruption to the usual routines of individuals. The visual presentation of various definitions issued by respondents is as shown below.
From the face value, disaster definition may seem to be a weak research front; in fact, some may argue that it does not deserve to be part of the mentionable analytical section of the whole process forgetting that the whole research work is all about the disaster and therefore; that is where all understandings must emanate from. It can be seen that there is a small part of the sampled population that completely missed out on the general concept of disaster.
Finally, the research analysis tried to understand where people place their hope in case a disaster occurs. In other words, the analysis attempted to reveal the balance of responsibility amidst a disaster. It must be understood that all disasters have certain common characteristics that make them qualify to be referred to as disasters, and that is the element of destruction of property and significant disruption of usual human life. Taking such factors into account, the sampled population balanced the burden of responsibility during the times of disaster between the various levels of governments, starting with the local governments to state governments and finally the federal government against others like individual responsibility as well as other emergency response organizations. Below shows how the respondents reacted to the questions leading to the conclusion.
