You must proofread your paper. But do not strictly rely on your computer’s spell-checker and grammar-checker; failure to do so indicates a lack of effort on your part and you can expect your grade to suffer accordingly. Papers with numerous misspelled words and grammatical mistakes will be penalized. Read over your paper – in silence and then aloud – before handing it in and make corrections as necessary. Often it is advantageous to have a friend proofread your paper for obvious errors. Handwritten corrections are preferable to uncorrected mistakes.
Use a standard 10 to 12 point (10 to 12 characters per inch) typeface. Smaller or compressed type and papers with small margins or single-spacing are hard to read. It is better to let your essay run over the recommended number of pages than to try to compress it into fewer pages.
Likewise, large type, large margins, large indentations, triple-spacing, increased leading (space between lines), increased kerning (space between letters), and any other such attempts at “padding” to increase the length of a paper are unacceptable, wasteful of trees, and will not fool your professor.
The paper must be neatly formatted, double-spaced with a one-inch margin on the top, bottom, and sides of each page. When submitting hard copy, be sure to use white paper and print out using dark ink. If it is hard to read your essay, it will also be hard to follow your argument.

Discussion Questions (DQ)
Initial responses to the DQ should address all components of the questions asked, include a minimum of one scholarly source, and be at least 250 words.
Successful responses are substantive (i.e., add something new to the discussion, engage others in the discussion, well-developed idea) and include at least one scholarly source.
One or two sentence responses, simple statements of agreement or “good post,” and responses that are off-topic will not count as substantive. Substantive responses should be at least 150 words.
I encourage you to incorporate the readings from the week (as applicable) into your responses.
Weekly Participation
Your initial responses to the mandatory DQ do not count toward participation and are graded separately.
In addition to the DQ responses, you must post at least one reply to peers (or me) on three separate days, for a total of three replies.
Participation posts do not require a scholarly source/citation (unless you cite someone else’s work).
Part of your weekly participation includes viewing the weekly announcement and attesting to watching it in the comments. These announcements are made to ensure you understand everything that is due during the week.
APA Format and Writing Quality
Familiarize yourself with APA format and practice using it correctly. It is used for most writing assignments for your degree. Visit the Writing Center in the Student Success Center, under the Resources tab in LoudCloud for APA paper templates, citation examples, tips, etc. Points will be deducted for poor use of APA format or absence of APA format (if required).
Cite all sources of information! When in doubt, cite the source. Paraphrasing also requires a citation.
I highly recommend using the APA Publication Manual, 6th edition.
Use of Direct Quotes
I discourage overutilization of direct quotes in DQs and assignments at the Masters’ level and deduct points accordingly.
As Masters’ level students, it is important that you be able to critically analyze and interpret information from journal articles and other resources. Simply restating someone else’s words does not demonstrate an understanding of the content or critical analysis of the content.
It is best to paraphrase content and cite your source.

If you do not communicate with me before submitting an assignment late, the GCU late policy will be in effect.

Quasi-experimental studies encompass a broad range of nonrandomized intervention studies. These designs are frequently used when it is not logistically feasible or ethical to conduct a randomized controlled trial. Examples of quasi-experimental studies follow. As one example of a quasi-experimental study, a hospital introduces a new order-entry system and wishes to study the impact of this intervention on the number of medication-related adverse events before and after the intervention. As another example, an informatics technology group is introducing a pharmacy order-entry system aimed at decreasing pharmacy costs. The intervention is implemented and pharmacy costs before and after the intervention are measured.
In medical informatics, the quasi-experimental, sometimes called the pre-post intervention, design often is used to evaluate the benefits of specific interventions. The increasing capacity of health care institutions to collect routine clinical data has led to the growing use of quasi-experimental study designs in the field of medical informatics as well as in other medical disciplines. However, little is written about these study designs in the medical literature or in traditional epidemiology textbooks. In contrast, the social sciences literature is replete with examples of ways to implement and improve quasi-experimental studies.
A population includes all members from a specified group, all possible outcomes or measurements that are of interest. The exact population will depend on the scope of the study. For example, say you would like to know whether there is an association between job performance and the amount of home working hours per week in the specific case of Belgian data scientists. In this case, the population might be Belgian data scientists. However, if the scope of the study is more narrow (e.g., the study focuses on french-speaking Belgian data scientists who live at least 30km away from their workplace), then the population will be more specific and include only workers who meet the criteria. The point is that the population should only include people to whom the results will apply. 
A sample consists of some observations drawn from the population, so a part or a subset of the population. The sample is the group of elements who actually participated in the study. 
Members and elements are defined in the broad sense of the term. It may be human. For instance, the population may be “all people living in Belgium” and the sample may be “some people living in Belgium”. It can be anything else too. Say you are testing the effect of a new fertilizer on crop yield. All the crop fields represent your population, whereas the 10 crop fields you tested correspond to your sample. Since a sample is a subset of a population, a sample is always smaller than the population.1 Note that, a population must not necessarily be large. It might be the case that you study such a narrow population (e.g., first-year male bachelor students from your university who passed the statistics exam in June and for whom their parents have been divorced for more than 5 years), that the size of the population is actually rather small.

Drawing a sample of convenience 
A construction engineer has just received a shipment of 1000 concrete blocks, each weighing approximately 50 pounds. The blocks have been delivered in a large pile. The engineer wishes to investigate the crushing strength of the blocks by measuring the strengths in a sample of 10 blocks. Explain why it might be difficult to draw a simple random sample of blocks. Describe how the engineer might draw a sample of convenience. 
Solution 
To draw a simple random sample would require removing blocks from the center and bottom of the pile, which might be quite difficult. One way to draw a sample of convenience would be to simply take 10 blocks off the top of the pile. 
Samples of convenience  The big problem with samples of convenience is that they may differ systematically in some way from the population. For this reason, samples of convenience should not be used, except in some situations where it is not feasible to draw a random sample. When it is necessary to draw a sample of convenience, it is important to think carefully about all the ways in which the sample might differ systematically from the population. If it is reasonable to believe that no important systematic difference exists, then it may be acceptable to treat the sample of convenience as if it were a simple random sample. With regard to the concrete blocks, if the engineer is confident that the blocks on the top of the pile do not differ systematically in any important way from the rest, then he can treat the sample of convenience as a simple random sample. If, however, it is possible that blocks in different parts of the pile may have been made from different batches of mix, or may have different curing times or temperatures, a sample of convenience could give misleading results. 
Voluntary response samples are often used by the media to try to engage the audience. For example, a news commentator will invite people to tweet an opinion, or a radio announcer will invite people to call the station to say what they think. How reliable are voluntary response samples? To put it simply, voluntary response samples are never reliable. People who go to the trouble to volunteer an opinion tend to have stronger opinions than is typical of the population. In addition, people with negative opinions are often more likely to volunteer their responses than those with positive opinions. 
 Unfortunately, we see voluntary response sampling often in our life. For example, call-in poll, TV station host gives a question to all audience, then the people who call in will become the sample; online survey, people who go to the website to answer the questionnaire are the sample. Voluntary response sample usually include people who have strong opinion to the question, so they can’t represent the opinion of all people, thus the result is biased.  Everyone is busy, if you don’t care about the questions, you won’t want to spend your time to give your opinion to call or answer the questions online. Mailing-in survey is also voluntary response sampling.

In the study by Werneck et al., the authors sought to answer the question of whether leisure-time physical activity can attenuate or eliminate the association between obesity and high blood pressure. The authors found that leisure-time physical activity was negatively associated with obesity, and that this association was strongest among those who were obese. In other words, those who were more active had a lower risk of being obese, and this was especially true for those who were already obese (Werneck et al., 2018). This suggests that leisure-time physical activity may be one way to reduce the risk of obesity-related health problems such as high blood pressure. 
Cluster sampling technique was applied in selecting the sample from the population. Cluster sampling is a non-probability sampling technique where the population is divided into clusters and a random sample is chosen from each cluster. This technique is used when it is not possible to randomly select individuals from the population. 
Cluster sampling is a less time-consuming, and thus less expensive, survey technique than systematic sampling. With cluster sampling, the population is divided into clusters (groups of people who are alike in some way), and then a random sample of clusters is selected. Some experts believe that cluster sampling can produce results that are as accurate as those produced by systematic sampling, while others believe that cluster sampling produces more inaccurate results (Etikan & Bala, 2017). The accuracy of a survey’s results depends on several factors, including the size of the clusters and the degree to which they are truly randomly selected. 
In summary, the main advantage of using cluster sampling is that it is a less expensive and time-consuming than other sampling techniques. The main disadvantage of using this technique is that it may not produce a representative sample of the population.

Random cluster sampling is a way to select participants randomly that are spread out geographically. For example, if you wanted to choose 100 participants from the entire population of the U.S., it is likely impossible to get a complete list of everyone. Instead, the researcher randomly selects areas (i.e., cities or counties) and randomly selects from within those boundaries.  
Cluster sampling usually analyzes a particular population in which the sample consists of more than a few elements, for example, city, family, university, etc. Researchers then select the clusters by dividing the population into various smaller sections.

I agree with you that the study tries to identify the experiences that are there with the use of restraint chair and the four-point restraint. Initially, nurses have been complaining about comfort and safety when the four-point was used, the introduction of the restraint chair has seen it being preferred over the four-point restraint (Falkner, (2018). The vulnerable people need to be given the best health care no matter how they are from and where they come from they need to be given a chance to settle down. It’s a good post.

In statistics, cluster sampling is a sampling method in which the entire population of the study is divided into externally, homogeneous but internally, heterogeneous groups called clusters. Essentially, each cluster is a mini-representation of the entire population. Indeed cluster sampling method is less time consuming and less expensive. The division of the entire population into homogenous groups increases the feasibility of the sampling. Additionally, since each cluster represents the entire population, more subjects can be included in the study.
