I have been a manager of Alpha productions limited, a company that manufactures farm inputs and products, for two years. There were ten employees when I took over from the last management and by just by the look of things you could tell that the employees were so much demotivated some had left the job to look for other types of employment. From the management skills I had applied in the previous company, I knew for an employee to be productive, they must be motivated for their benefit and the company.
Staff motivation, employee retention, and the general level of productivity in a business are all critical factors to consider (Naile, 2014). For managers to continue participating in their own companies, employee motivation is a critical element. Every employee is different and motivated by different things; it is critical to have a solid strategy to keep every company member, or even simply your team, engaged. When it comes to your companys employees, the dedication and satisfaction of your employees must be considered a priority for their performance to be at its best (Shahzadi, 2014).
My approach to rewarding and recognizing workers at Alpha Limited was developed from my own experience. It leads to higher levels of employee engagement, which improves retention and contributes to a more pleasant overall working environment. Improved employee engagement may be achieved by implementing a rewards and recognition program, which has many advantages for the organization, including increased productivity and staff retention. When workers are rewarded, greater productivity results in increased sales, resulting in a significant rise in profit due to the increased sales.
Training may assist workers in understanding how their job fits into the overall structure, purpose, and objectives of their business. When employees realize how their job contributes to the greater good, they are more motivated. I realized that Alpha employees were not trained as the world is also diverging. I came up with various workshops where employees would be trained to sharpen their expertise to improve the companys productivity. Some workshops would be carried outside the organization for employees to mingle and interact with other employees from other organizations; they share their working experiences.
As a manager of Alpha limited, I recognized employees accomplishments are essential because they make them understand that their employer appreciates them and their contributions to the success of their team and the business as a whole. This is especially important when companies expand or undergo transformation. It assists workers in developing a feeling of security in their contribution to the business, which motivates them to continue doing an excellent job. I provided information on how the business is working to achieve its purpose regularly, highlighting how individual employee goals tie to the overall vision.
Motivated workers are more likely to perform at a higher level and put more effort to create high-quality products. When individuals believe that their efforts are being recognized, they are more likely to continue to put out their best effort. It has also been observed that employees whose accomplishments have been recognized express more significant levels of satisfaction with their jobs. If they believe their hard hours and personal sacrifices were in vain, they are unlikely to go out of their way for the business shortly. To demonstrate your appreciation to dedicated workers, it is essential to highlight their accomplishments in meetings, acknowledge them in staff emails, or express your gratitude to them personally.
In a nutshell, motivation is critical to any organizations success. Motivation is never a one size fits all process. A company of any size could have a vast range of diversity, and everyone most likely will not be motivated by the same rewards. The level of dedication, passion, and excitement that each businesss workers bring to their jobs daily determines the level of commitment, passion, and excitement that the company has. Due to this, companies have seen reduced productivity and output levels, and they are less likely to accomplish their main goals in the absence of government support.
