Gospel Essentials Essay
People have different ways of perceiving their understanding of the Christian worldview. Therefore, the understanding of critical information about God and the Christian faith is an inherent part of one’s religious foundation and education. One wishing to know more about the Christian religion and worldview, need to learn about the essential aspects that define the Christian worldview, especially the nature of God, the persona of Jesus Christ and their connection to humanity, the concept of restoration, and the implication of this worldview (Bernard, 2019). The purpose of this paper is to discuss the essential elements of the Gospel and provide an analysis of the implications they have on the Christian worldview and Christian foundation.
Gospel Essentials
a). Nature of God
God’s attributes and the core features of the divine being have a considerable importance to Christian ideas and ideals; which depicts His nature and endeavors. From a biblical perspective, God is triune meaning that He exists in three individuals that are critical to the Christian theology. God represents the Father, the Son, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit who are united in God’s nature and manifest as Holy Trinity. In 2 Corinthians 1:21, “Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. And put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come” (NIV). The implication is that God exists in divine trinity of three persons. The characteristics of God as divine in the bible show his purpose and power. God is the creator and an omnipresent as well as omnipotent who created the world, humanity and all things in it. God is also omnibenevolent; meaning that He is all-loving and all forgiving.
God is the source of knowledge as He gives it to man to transform society and makes it better for His creation. Christians believe that God is infinite or alga and omega meaning that he has no end or beginning. Again, He is the beginning and the end (Peterson, 2018). God created and humanity because of his love for man and forgives as He did to the first parents, Adam and Eve. Colossians 1:16 says, “For in Him all things were created, things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions, or rulers or authorities. All things were created through Him and for Him. This means that God is concerned about the good of humanity and its impact on their living. God is eternal and possess all strength and rules all powers, authorities and dominions.
b). Nature of Humanity
Humanity, also called the human nature, denote the humankind’s general psychological characteristics or features, feelings, and behavioral traits. Human beings are created in image and likeness of God based on the Christian worldview. God created all mankind to be like Him, in all aspects, not just physically, but also in spirit and heart. God made human beings in this manner so that they can live lives full of love, joy, and have reverence to Him in all aspects of their lives (Bernard, 2019). Again, the purpose of humanity is to praise and worship God as they live an abundant life on earth.

Nevertheless, humans are fallen creatures who God banished from heaven or good life because of committing the original sin. Therefore, while God bestowed numerous responsibilities and obligations on humanity like stewardship of his creation, the maintenance and perpetuation of the Earth and all its creation, the environment and all living creatures, the demand to atone for the sin committed by Adam and Eve. Imperatively, human being are expected not only to sustain the natural balance but also seek redemption from the original sin (Peterson, 2018). The significance of Adam and Eve’s disobedience further demonstrates the origin of the different problems that are caused mainly due to the duality of human nature. While human beings are made in God’s image, and have inherent dignity and value, obstacles like mistrust and sin are detrimental to their wellbeing. Disobedience and discontent with God originate a host of complications for humans which can only be addressed through a commitment to faith that provides salvation through repentance.
c). Nature of Jesus Christ
The true identity of Jesus Christ is a significant aspect of the Christian faith which enables one to have a better and in-depth understanding of God. While Jesus came as fully human and represented human nature, He is also the Son of God, and a constituent part of the Holy Trinity. Imperatively, his true identity is God Himself. Jesus aims at establishing God’s kingdom on Earth through which the will of God would be attained. Christians believe that Jesus is God in the flesh and came to resemble humanity as the lord and experience their living (Diffey, 2020). Jesus came to show human beings what God expects from them and how they should live. Through Jesus, God aimed at bringing redemption and restoration of human beings after the commitment of the Original sin by Adam and Eve.
The concepts of Jesus Christ’s true identity and his work on Earth before his suffering, and death are a critical aspects of the Christian worldview. As father and son, Christ repents for the sins committed by humanity as the ultimate sacrifice to create peace between man and God. Through His sacrificial death and later on resurrection, Jesus fulfills God’s will of redemption and restoration of human beings. Jesus performed miracles as a demonstration of His purpose and His powers given by God to advance social justice for the suffering human beings (Waddell et al., 2020). Living with human being, experiencing their anguish, anxieties and frustrations as well as understanding their hopes and aspirations makes Jesus more appealing and more connected to humanity than God, the father and even the Holy Spirit. However, Jesus Christ’s coming was to manifest the Holy Trinity in person and fulfill the concept of man’s creation in God’s image.
d). Restoration
At the core of restoration is the need to attain connection to God by following His original plans for humanity. Jesus Christ came to restore the broken relationship between man and God. Restoration will entail man’s return to divinity and their perfect relationship with God without sinning or disobedience. Restoration provides a solution to human problems after redemption, reconciliation and eventually man going back to the original plan (Peterson, 2018). God was interested in restoring his relationship with man after the fall of humankind upon the commission of the original sin by Adam and Eve. God created laws and rules as demonstrated in the Old Testament where prophets came to offer counsel and revelation from Him. Next, God gave his only son, Jesus Christ to humans to show them how to return to the perfect plan. Jesus embodied God’s unconditional love for people and represents a Savior or Messiah for humanity’s sinful nature (Bernard, 2019). The fall of humankind severed the connection between God and man but through faith in Jesus Christ, they can restore the relationship with Him, more fundamentally at personal level in their hearts.
Human beings must have faith in Jesus and trust in Him. Grace and repentance are essential for Christians to receive restoration and love their neighbors and God. Love and service to others reorient the self and society to assimilate and manifest Christ in spiritual ways and attain the restoration from God. Therefore, when one maintains their faith and demonstrates love to others, they are manifesting aspects of a restored relationship with God and their fellow human beings.
Analysis & Summary: Christian Foundation
The gospel essentials are critical to the foundation of the Christian worldview since they constitute the main aspects of Christianity. The nature of God, humanity, and Jesus are important as they demonstrate how God and Jesus Christ lay out the Christian beliefs and foundation. These components illustrate that at the core of Christianity are values that include love, kindness, selflessness, benevolence, and kindness to all people. These qualities are the foundations of the Christian worldview and religion. The idea that God has unconditional love provides a host of benefits to humanity because it shows that human beings should love one another as God loves (Oliver et al., 2019). The connection between God and love is projected onto humans as depicted in John 4:7; NIV; “every one that loves is born of God, and knows God”. The concept of humanity and its nature, while important demonstrates the deficiencies that man has and its effect on his interactions. Humanity is sinful but God through Jesus Christ provides restoration that mankind can hope to improve his relationship with Him. These Gospel essentials are fundamental to understanding the overall concept of Christ and His genuine love for humanity. The Christian faith endows and bestows benefits that include forgiveness of sins, peace and love, eternal life upon repentance, and salvation.
Implications of the Christian Worldview
The Christian worldview has serious implications based on the five prompts addressed in the paper. The Christian worldview’s benefits or strengths associated with human value and dignity are significant. Firstly, Christians believe that human beings are made for God’s glory and greatness as co-creators. Through this, people understand that they are created for a purpose and reason. Secondly, the creation of humanity in God’s image instills some level of morality and righteous conduct towards others which offers numerous benefits to the world (Diffey, 2020). Thirdly, Christian worldview emphasizes the need to create a world based on community perspective and considering others as equally important through unconditional love.
The idea of Christian salvation is different from other worldviews since Christians are keen on developing their relationship with God. For instance, the atheist perspective advances that there is no one unitary God and people should be left to their own decision-making mechanisms to exist in the world. However, Christianity advances that the concept of God gives humanity the purpose and value of their life and why they exist (Peterson, 2018). When there is no omniscient deity, individuals can act and behave in certain ways that are not acceptance in society.
Christianity impacts one thinking and behaviors in constructive ways. for instance, living through Jesus’s example equips one with a consummate framework about the expected conduct and thinking mindset. In Luke 6:27-36 (NIV) Jesus implores His disciples to lead their lives by expressing love and compassion towards all people, especially their enemies. Christianity teaches the fruits of the Holy Spirit and the indication of a believer’s way of life. Therefore, how one lives and believes depends on their Christian values and taught norms.
The core troubling aspect of Christianity is the aspect of practicing love and living true to the teachings of Jesus Christ. Christianity is the largest religion in the world but in many areas where it is practiced, people do not live according to the teachings advanced by Jesus Christ (Oliver et al., 2019). The explanation for this is varied, from both a biblical perspective and even outside the Christian teaching. One is that Christians do not heed to the readings and practices taught through the bible.
Conclusion
At the core of this essay is the need to understand the essentials of the gospel and their impact in the lives of Christians based on this worldview. The paper illustrates the different attributions of God and Jesus and the effects of humanity and restoration. Again, the paper demonstrates that humanity is significant to overall attainment of the Christian worldview and implores all practicing Christians to heed the call for a better and restored relationship with God.
