A nursing leader identified serving on a board is Dr. April N. Kapu. She is the current president of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). The mission of the AANP reads “AANP empowers all NPs to advocate accessible, person- centered, equitable, high- quality health care for diverse communities though practice, education, advocacy, research and leadership” (American Association of Nurse Practitioners, 2023).
