To plan a large group time for a pre-K classroom and to evaluate your plan.
Scenario:
You are a teacher in a 4-year-old class and you struggle with group time. The children tend to wiggle and seem distracted and that is when you can even get them to join you. You speak with your colleague, who teaches 3-year-olds, and find she does not have the same issue. After talking with her, you decide to make some changes to your approach to group time.
1. Write a lesson plan using the provided format for a 10-minute group time. Include information in your lesson plan about how you will adjust the seating.
Self-Evaluation
1. For each activity in your lesson plan:
a. Explain how this activity addresses the issues in the scenario.
b. Give evidence from the chapter supporting this activity (with citations).
2. Describe and justify how this lesson plan would improve teaching and learning in the scenario.
